J. Moffett Walker wrote a poem about the host of " Look Around Mississippi" Walt Grayson, in her historical poetry volume, The Mississippi I Love, published in 2007.
On April 9, 2012, WLBT featured her reading that poem, "Mr. Travel. Many viewers gave Walker a positive critique of her performance.
J. Moffett Walker will be among about ten Imagicopter ( Authors Organization) members appearing at the Mayfair on April 12, 2012, in Senatobia, Mississippi, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. About 5,000 people are expected to attend the fair.
Walker will proudly greet and meet participants talking about her six books and be ready for signing.

Hinds County Library, Annie Thompson Branch, Bolton, MS, invited J. Moffett Walker to speak on "African American Women's History and Culture" on February 15, 2012.
According to Ms. Robinson,
librarian, who operates a well-kept and up- to- date community library, the participants marveled at the Walker's message.
Evening Star, an organization of the beautiful Pearl Street A M E Church, Jackson, MS, presented J. Moffett Walker on February 20, 2012.
She spoke to that group from one of her six books, The Powerful Web of Kinfolk. A fellowship meal and book signing followed the presentation.
